Edard pushes the cork very far

Traffic news reports no traffic jams on the highway to success for Edard, but ever more innovative mechanical closures, designed for packaging and packaging manufacturers. Joël Segenreich, its managing director for a year, likes to say that “each mechanical cap, jar closure and growler is adapted to each type of container and can be infinitely customized/accessorized by our design office”. Far from the mass market, its wire bending activity is the result of a gradually industrialized craft. The automation of the assembly of mechanical caps starting in 2011 and jar closures over the last two years has allowed the company to increase its production capacity tenfold, increasing to nearly 200 million pieces per year. The characteristic rattling of its steel closures can be heard on bottles of vodka in eastern countries as well as sparkling wines in Australia, beer in the United States, maple syrup in Canada, olive oil in Italy, olive oil in Italy, olive oil in Italy, sangria in Spain or lemonade in France.

“Over time, we have expanded and automated our machine park. Who says a lot of machines, says a lot of risks, which we have listed in a unique occupational risk assessment document (DUERP) written with our CCI advisor. I prefer to surround myself with expert professionals to save time and skills with my internal teams,” analyzes the manager. “Give me an R, an S, an E! ” Corporate social responsibility is rooted in its DNA. ISO 9001 certified and EcoVadis and UN Global Compact certified, Edard is working to obtain the ISO 14 001 standard for environmental management systems, again with the support of the CCI.

An interactive cork

“Initially, the cork has the function of corking and re-corking bottles of soft drinks or drinks that you are not going to drink all at once. It is also part of a virtuous cycle, in particular with the generalization of the deposit for the reuse of glass packaging on January 1, 2024 in France, and is becoming a differentiating element for the customer. We support him in installing or closing bottles on the lines, by putting him in contact with all the players in the ecosystem,” explains Joël Segenreich. Already a pioneer in the traceability of its products, all marked, the manufacturer is in the process of developing an interactive cap equipped with an NFC chip. It will allow industrial management, a simplification of logistics and communication for the general public. The bicentennial company is not done drinking!
