EDARD, world leader in mechanical corks

After being a glassware company for 93 years, then a company specializing in cork stoppers and cellar articles in 1795, Edard is now number one in the world in the manufacture of the iconic mechanical cork. A specialty product, “made in France” that has a very bright future ahead of it.

With its family spirit, the company is part of the STARD group specializing in packaging with: Ozembal in Pas-de-Calais, manufacturer of HDPE bottles, then PeRing Packaging in Poland, manufacturer of PET bottles, and finally TecinPET in India, manufacturer of molds.

Based in Alsace, the EDARD factory, which is highly automated, has been expanding rapidly since the 2000s and now has around fifty highly experienced employees. The manufacture of mechanical plug, of which EDARD produces more than 150 million units per year, is based on genuine technical expertise.

Promote the advantages of an ingenious cork

If mechanical corking — made famous in particular by bottles of lemonade and beer — is Edard's core business, the question that arises is: “Why prefer this ingenious closure system to the capsule or the screw cap?” The answers are multiple: technically, the mechanical cap attached to the bottle allows a quick closure, allowing the gas to be retained in the drink and therefore to keep the sparkling side. It is the cork par excellence for returnable glass bottles, designed to guarantee corking quality over more than 1000 openings/closures, and is part of a circular and eco-responsible economy approach. These are the assets that Edard teams highlight.

Inspiring new customers

Producers of wines, spirits, waters, ciders and all these new drinks that are flourishing on the market: Edard's new customers are everywhere! “Above all, our ambition is to create a universe in common with customers who, like us, have a story to tell, between tradition and modernity”, says Joël Segenreich, CEO of the Duttlenheim company.

Support the use of mechanical stoppers

Beyond manufacturing Made in France of mechanical corks, Edard offers its customers solutions technology for assembling and closing corks on bottles. Edard combines industrial heritage and innovation, creating the link between tradition and modernity, while attracting a new generation in search of meaning, sustainability and authenticity.
